Our Philosophy
Aliso Viejo Christian School Preschool is a faith-based preschool centered on the love of the Lord and the wonderful world He created. We believe that every child is a unique gift from God, created with purpose, curiosity, and unlimited potential.
At AVCS Preschool, we embrace a unique blend of the Reggio Emilia-inspired approach and an academic foundation. We believe children learn best through meaningful, intentional play and hands-on exploration while developing the skills needed for future academic success. In this approach, teachers serve as guides, creating engaging learning experiences that inspire curiosity, encourage problem-solving, and support each child's individual growth and development.
Our Christian faith is woven into every part of the school day. Through Bible stories, prayer, worship, and daily acts of kindness, children learn about God's love. We strive to model Christ's love by teaching compassion, respect, honesty, forgiveness, gratitude, and service to others. We partner with families to nurture each child's academic, social, emotional, and spiritual growth, creating a loving community where every child feels valued, encouraged, and known by God.
The Gift of Creation Outdoor Studio
At AVCS Preschool we are excited to offer our Gift of Creation Outdoor Studio, a unique learning environment where children create, explore, and discover through meaningful hands-on experiences. The studio extends learning beyond the classroom through art, culinary exploration, nature, and sensory experiences.
Each class enjoys a dedicated 45-minute session each day led by our Preschool Director, who brings over 15 years of early childhood teaching experience. Children engage in long-term projects that encourage them to revisit their work, teaching that learning is a journey and that beauty grows through patience, creativity, and perseverance.
Using open-ended materials such as clay, light and shadow, natural elements, and loose parts, children are encouraged to experiment, solve problems, and express their ideas. Culinary experiences invite children to observe, explore, and appreciate the fruits and foods God has provided, inspiring curiosity and gratitude.
Our Teachers
Teachers are a fundamental piece in guiding children to become their best selves. At AVCS Preschool, Our teaching team is made up of qualified and experienced early childhood educators who are passionate about working with children. Each teacher brings a strong background in early childhood education and a deep understanding of child development. Many of our teachers have dedicated years to nurturing young learners, with some having served at our school for over 30 years. Their experience, commitment, and love for children help create a warm, consistent, and enriching environment where every child can grow and thrive.
